PLEASE NOTE: We are not “www.hotbooksale.com” and have no connection with that site or with its “SmartSavingsCenter.” If you have purchased from or have issues with them, contacting us will not help you.

For our books and calendars, until this situation passes, please e-mail Chas for ordering information.

ALL OUR INTERNAL ORDERING LINKS ARE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED in response to a Department of Justice investigation of a potential fraud the DOJ discussed with us that does not concern this Web site -- except that the other site’s name is similar and some of its customers have written to me thinking I can solve their problems. I cannot. Please contact that site directly or contact your local Department of Justice Consumer Affairs investigators.

Until we stop hearing from that site’s upset customers, please e-mail Chas for ordering information or watch for updates here on the home page.

Thank you for your understanding. I appreciate the notes of support from those of you who sent them when this issue arose in late February and as the issues have continued.

Our 2009 calendar, Mountains and Trees, is ready to ship. Have you ordered yours yet? The 8-1/2 x 11-inch calendar features 12 full-color photos and the “Mountains and Trees” poem. The few who have seen it so far say this is the best calendar yet.

See more information at Calendar/Poem.

The price includes shipping within the U.S.

Book News:

After a couple of years without a new book, this year will see several new ones. Three are well underway, so watch this space for news as each is set free for your reading pleasure.

The first two are a novel, Gifts for Betsy, and a photo book, Talking With Trees. I can’t go a day without time on each of them, and don’t know yet which will be completed first.

Either way, you’re in for a treat. And that’s not just an author’s pride. My editors keep telling me the same thing.

Living ...
What could be more important than living? Really living, feeling alive in every moment?
Each of us lives our own kind of life, and some bring a unique perspective that speaks to others. People tell me my life and my way of writing inspire them and offer them optional ways of living beyond obstacles. They say that by looking at my unique way of living they have been encouraged to see their own lives differently. That they become even more of who they truly are.
I would love to do the same for you.
Please make yourself at home here, wander freely. Along with the books, we offer newsletters and occasional workshops, custom poems and mention of other Web sites you might enjoy. We enjoyed the companionship of the GoodGrief Community that was begun in 1999 because certain people felt that they could learn from my ability to live beyond the grief that struck our family in 1992. The GoodGrief mailing list is presently on hiatus. After seven years, I needed a break. I’ve been asked when the list will be available again, and I don’t know. I hope sometime this year.

We were just starting to update this site and now have the issues related to the fraud investigation to factor into that update. As part of the process, some pages are now offline. I hope we’ve removed all links to those pages. If you bump into a link that goes nowhere, please let us know. Thanks!

I am also available as a writing coach, editor or reviewer. Please e-mail me to discuss your needs. People find my matter-of-fact yet tangential way of looking at things helpful to their writing projects, and I enjoy being able to share the options I see. As a freelance writer/editor for many years, I am both quick and very particular. My editing experience includes work in business, education, legal, health, self-help, Web sites (not HTML, just English), fiction, nonfiction, articles and the occasional love letter.
Hope to ‘see’ you again soon!
